Water at 125°F/52°C..............1500 ml

Add a pinch of sulfite before adding the metol.

I used tap water in my first mix and I’m in a very hard water area. The solution remained cloudy, and on dilution in the dish a fine precipitate occurred. This did not impair developer action at all but next time I’ll use distilled water.

Dilution with water to make working solution is 1:1 to 1:4. My first use was at 1:2 and this worked well with Adox Nuance Grade 3, giving a slight contrast reduction. 3 minutes development at 20°C.

A good developer for two-tray development, with the second tray being either normal or high contrast.
